PROPOSITIONS
A choreography of relations between one performer and a collective of spectators, it works as a social experiment that uses the theatrical dispositif to reveal how this conditions perception in its own way. By making use of a series of subtractions – subtracting the performer, subtracting the collective, subtracting any one sense –, this work strives for activating the cognition that, in each of us, tends to complete the whole with what is missing or seems to be. And inasmuch as a sense of belonging to what is shared, both individually and collectively, gets to be activated in this way, “Propositions” is also a choreography of the commons. It is a relational structure conditioned by movements that go from the perception of something potential to the expression of that same potentiality in the form of relational actions. As such, “Propositions” is intrinsically a composition of incompletenesses.
