CHOREOGRAPHIC OBJECTS: ABSTRACTIONS, TRANSDUCTIONS, EXPRESSIONS
The present text attests a speculative tentative to define choreographic objects. This is done by looking into a series of study cases with a major concern: if such are the objects of choreographic knowledge, how can they exist across a variety of different media? This question is to be framed by the “encounter between dance and technology” and by the ontogenetic concerns of process philosophy, that is, the problem of creativity. This was the theoretical output of a PhD research undertaken within the UTAustin|Portugal Program.
NEXUS AT THE LIMITS OF POSSIBILITY
This text reflects upon my participation in the performative installation by Deufert&Plischke, the Emergence Room #2 Berlin, for which I’ve created a document that explores the potentials and possibilities for the emergence of unpredictable patterns in a finite system of reference. This text was published as a chapter of the book Multimodality and Performance, edited by cognitive linguist Carla Fernandes, on Cambridge Scholars Publishing (2016).
