Departing from the discussion around the Anthropocene and the current climate crisis, but also from Amerindian cosmologies, multi-species ethnographies, structural racism, the robot blues and a kapok tree trunk cut so that humans can dance on it, Anthroposcenes is a collaboration between Rita Natálio and João dos Santos Martins with the contribution of several agents from the disciplines of ecology, dance, music, anthropology and visual arts. A dancing conference where plants, stones, cats, dildos, and grass armpits may be the main speakers, where ferns discuss their legal rights, plastic bags commit suicide, animals make petitions against their extinction, gardeners cut plant hair, where we hug teddy bears of pollution and eat earth. Textually, ideas from art history and contemporary anthropology are mixed up, oppose each other, kill and skin each other to dismiss certain ideals of nature. Antropo ma non troppo.
