Áudio-documentário “Guião de um movimento” by Nuno Viegas

Audio Documentary Guião de um Movimento by Nuno Viegas

The audio documentary Guião de um Movimento by Nuno Viegas follows the process of creating the audio description for the dance performance ONYX, choreographed by Piny and presented at Teatro do Bairro Alto in May 2024. This audio description was developed as part of the Thinking Audio Description in Contemporary Dance training/research program, conducted throughout the first semester of 2024, organized by Associação Parasita and curated by Ana Rita Teodoro.

The documentary explores the challenges and possibilities of describing movement, questioning the necessary vocabulary to translate the experience of dance into words. Given the abstract nature of the art form, Guião de um Movimento invites reflection on how to construct a sensitive, precise, and accessible narrative through an open dialogue with artists, choreographers, dancers, and blind consultants.

Guião de um Movimento, a work by Nuno Viegas for Associação Parasita, offers new perspectives on the relationship between body, language, and accessibility, broadening the understanding of dance for a diverse audience.
