{"id":3908,"date":"2025-02-25T10:59:59","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T10:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/parasita.eu\/?post_type=cpt_carlos_oliveira&#038;p=3908"},"modified":"2025-02-25T11:00:38","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T11:00:38","slug":"2025","status":"publish","type":"cpt_carlos_oliveira","link":"https:\/\/parasita.eu\/en\/carlos-manuel-oliveira\/2025\/","title":{"rendered":"2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>VAMOS TODXS: HIST\u00d3RIA DO TEATRO DE AMADORES \u2013 ENCONTRO, CONVERSAS, ARQUIVOS, EXPOSI\u00c7\u00c3O<\/h1>\n<p><em>VAMOS TODXS<\/em> [<em>let&#8217;s all go<\/em>], a call to the community to attend the theatre events that take place in Santar\u00e9m, was an expression commonly used by Carlos Alberto Oliveira, an artist from Santar\u00e9m, and here it serves as a motto for a meeting between people who, like him, made theatre during the transition from dictatorship to democracy, embodying the revolution itself and thus marking the following generations.<br \/>\nIn a day of reflection on amateur and semi-professional theatre in the 70s and 80s, stories from Santar\u00e9m and different &#8211; and decentralised &#8211; parts of the country are brought together, told by those involved, to revisit the ways in which theatre played a part in building democracy in Portugal. It is some of these stories that ARQUIVO CHONA tells, a collection of documents that will be presented on this day, and with which more than half a century of the artist&#8217;s and theatre&#8217;s activity in the municipality of Santar\u00e9m will be traversed.<\/p>\n<h2>PROGRAM<br \/>\n29 March (saturday), from 10:30am to 10:30pm<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\nS\u00c1 DA BANDEIRA THEATRE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">10:30 am<\/span>\u00a0RECEPTION AND WELCOME<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">11 am<\/span> TALK &#8211; \u2018I ALSO STARTED OUT AS AN AMATEUR\u2019<br \/>\nAround a long table, open to all, figures from Santar\u00e9m&#8217;s amateur theatre discuss, in retrospect, the journey of artists, groups and the city&#8217;s artistic scene from the 1960s to today, in parallel with similar stories from other parts of the country, told by those who lived them.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1 pm<\/span> LUNCH<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2 pm<\/span> TOUR &#8211; THEATRE PLACES IN SANTAR\u00c9M<br \/>\nGuided tour of the city&#8217;s historic centre, stopping off at some of the places where theatre was performed during the second half of the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BERNARDO SANTARENO READING ROOM<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">3 pm<\/span> PRESENTATION &#8211; ART, ACTIVISM AND EXPERIMENTALISM IN THE 70s AND 80s<br \/>\nA guided tour of the exhibition \u2018Ruptura em Cena: Arte, Activismo e Experimentalismo nos Anos 70 e 80\u2019 [<em>Rupture on Stage: Art, Activism and Experimentalism in the 1970s and 1980s<\/em>] at the Bernardo Santareno Reading Room throughout March, by M\u00e1rio Moutinho, actor, author and curator, with Lu\u00edsa Marinho. The book \u2018O Teatro Semiprofissional no Porto. Arte, activismo e experimentalismo nos anos 70 e 80\u2019 [Semi-professional Theatre at Porto. Art, activism and experimentalism in the 70s and 80s], written by both in the same context, will also be presented.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">S\u00c1 DA BANDEIRA THEATRE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">4:30 pm<\/span> PRESENTATION &#8211; FOR A HISTORY OF AMATEUR THEATRE<br \/>\nAnt\u00f3nio Gomes Marques, former director of the Portuguese Amateur Theatre Association, shares some of the stories that marked the project of an amateur theatre organisation at national level.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">5:30 pm<\/span> COFFEE-BREAK<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">6 pm<\/span> TALK &#8211; THEATRE, BEYOND THE PROFESSIONAL AND THE AMATEUR<br \/>\nBringing together a group of agents who participated, through theatre, in the cultural decentralisation after 25 April 1974, this conversation discusses the ways of organising, financing and making theatre happen in the country, in a democracy.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">7:30 pm<\/span> DINNER<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">9 pm<\/span> PRESENTATION &#8211; ARQUIVO CHONA<br \/>\nCarlos Manuel Oliveira presents the ARQUIVO CHONA [<em>CHONA ARCHIVE<\/em>], a repository that gives an account of ongoing research, coordinated by him, invested in collecting and organising primary sources, relating the collection left by Carlos Alberto Oliveira (Chona) with others that give an account of theatre in the municipality of Santar\u00e9m during the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<h1>EXHIBITION \u201cRUPTURA EM CENA: ARTE, ACTIVISMO E EXPERIMENTALISMO NOS ANOS 70 E 80\u201d<\/h1>\n<p>Through a diverse collection of documents, \u2018RUPTURA EM CENA: Arte, Ativismo e Experimentalismo nos Anos 70 e 80\u2019 [<em>RUPTURE IN SCENE: Art, Activism and Experimentalism in the 1970s and 1980s<\/em>] situates theatrical production in post-April 25 Porto, reviewing different initiatives that \u2018shared the desire to be both artistic projects and social, political and cultural intervention projects\u2019 and that laid the foundations for the professionalisation of theatre.<br \/>\nThe opening will be attended by curators M\u00e1rio Moutinho and Lu\u00edsa Marinho and moderated by Ana Bigotte Vieira and Carlos Manuel Oliveira. The exhibition is part of the event \u2018Vamos Todxs: Hist\u00f3rias do Teatro de Amadores\u2019, organised by the latter two, and to be held at the S\u00e1 da Bandeira Theatre in Santar\u00e9m on 29 March &#8211; when the book \u2018O Teatro Semiprofissional no Porto. Arte, activismo e experimentalismo nos anos 70 e 80\u2019 [<em>Semi-professional Theatre at Porto.
